Constant Now, an art collective based in Belgium presents Wayward Sanctuaries a group exhibition in which artists explore new ways of creating home and belonging in a world full of change and uncertainty, Reflecting the theme of the Afrovibes Festival, Soil | Soul, spirit and land, visual artists, use art, rituals and spirituality to build spaces of connection, resistance and hope. The exhibition invites you to reflect on community, memory and the power of collectively imagining new worlds. Installed in various spaces at De Brakke Grond, it brings together work by fifteen artists, curated by Leana Boven.

While performers will present these ideas through embodiment and live presence in the theatres and foyer, the visual artists of Wayward Sanctuaries give conceptual and material shape to soil and soul in a myriad of striking forms from sculpture to video in several different spaces at De Brakke Grond.

Guided tours around the installations of the 15 artists, are provided just prior to the festival performances on Thursday 1 October, Friday 2 October, Saturday 3 October at 18:30 – 19:00. These walkabouts are free of charge, but reservation is required
